The John & Jamie Owens Trophy is in memory of a football-loving teenager from Thornaby, the only white person to play for a multi-cultural team in Stockton (he signed up for Stockton International Family Centre, an ever-changing, multi-national team including refugees and asylum seekers), who died of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome at the age of 17 in June 2005.

It is also in memory of his brother Jamie, who tragically passed away in 2011.

There will be fundraising activities held during the match and refrehments will be available.

This year a Norton & Stockton Ancients Select XI are taking on Tees Valley United, a team made up of players from various nationalities and cultures.
